Annual Overtime Compensation Election for Represented Non-Exempt Employees - 2009/2010
The month of June is the annual overtime compensation election period for represented employees in the following bargaining units:
- Clerical Employees (CX)
- Service Employees(SX)
- Residual Health Care Professionals (HX)
- Research Support Professionals (RX)
- Technical Employees (TX)
- Fire Fighters (FF)
During this month, employees may file a written indication of preference to receive compensatory time off (CTO) for overtime hours worked, where CTO is offered by the department.
Overtime is defined as time worked or on pay status, which exceeds forty (40) hours in a workweek. Under provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), agreement to accept compensatory time off in lieu of pay is entirely voluntary.
Service Employees (SX) and Residual Health Care Professional (HX) employees who do not return election forms will have their overtime compensated with pay.
Clerical Employees (CX), Research Support Professionals (RX) and Technical Employees (TX) who do not return election forms will have their current preference for CTO or pay continued.
Please complete an overtime compensation election form and submit it to your Staff Human Resources Service Team no later than July 1, 2009.

Employees in the following groups are not being asked to complete an overtime election form at this time:
- Non-Represented Staff (99)
- Patient Care Technical Employees (EX)
- Police Officers (PA)
- Registered Nurses (NX)
- Skilled Crafts Employees (K-7)
