Re: 2009-10 Furlough/Salary Reduction Plan Update
We are writing to notify you that March 1, 2010 marked the mid-point of the 12-month Furlough/Salary Reduction Plan, which will end on August 31, 2010 for most participating employees. Please note that for represented librarians only, the Furlough/Salary Reduction Plan will end on September 30, 2010.
As a reminder, furlough time will expire at the end of the plan and any unused hours will not be carried forward. Therefore, managers and supervisors are expected to manage and accommodate their employees’ use of furlough hours to ensure that they are expended by August 31, 2010 (or September 30, 2010 for represented librarians).
A practical set of questions and answers specifically addressing the use of furlough hours has been added to the Furlough/Salary Reduction Plan Q&A for Administrators in a new section titled “End of Furlough Plan” on the At Your Service web site.
Questions concerning academic employees should be directed to your divisional academic personnel coordinator.
For questions concerning staff employees, please contact your appropriate SHR Service Team.
