Are you preparing for your retirement?  Will you have enough income to live the lifestyle you desire?  Do you know what happens when you are eligible for Medicare?  Social Security? This series of workshops are targeted to those retiring in the next five years, and you are encouraged to attend all workshops, although everyone is welcome.  Space is limited so please enroll at Events Manager.


Fundamentals of Retirement Income Planning

Social Security

A minimum enrollment of 25 is required for the Social Security workshop. The workshop is subject to cancellation if minimum registration requirement is not reached by Thursday February 23rd. Registered enrollees will be notified if workshop is cancelled.
This presentation describes how eligibility for Social Security income is established, how benefits are calculated, when Social Security income can begin and the reduction if taken prior to your full retirement age.

Making the Most of Your Retirement: Joint Panel from Committee on Emeriti Relations and UCSC Retirees Association

This session is designed to help you consider your post-retirement plans. A panel of emeriti and retirees will focus on making the most of your retirement: how to stay connected to the campus; opportunities that await you; academic recall appointments; available volunteer and travel programs; UCOP and UCSC support services and potential hurdles. Bring your questions and concerns for a general discussion after the panel presentation.

Estate Planning

This presentation explains wills, different types of trusts, durable powers of attorney, and medical directives, as well as who needs each type of document and why. There will also be a discussion on preserving your assets for your loved ones if you need nursing home care.

UC Retiree Health Insurance
