UC Ethical Values and Conduct Compliance Briefing

Frequently Asked Questions

This briefing is designed to raise continued awareness of the University of California Statement of Ethical Values and Standards of Ethical Conduct, and to convey University employment obligations with respect to ethical and compliant behavior. The purpose is to familiarize UC employees with important ethics and compliance information, issues and resources, and how to report instances of non-compliance. Intended For: Approximately 192,000 University non-research employees (faculty, staff, postdocs, students) system-wide.

Notification: Each non-research University employee will be automatically registered to complete the Compliance Briefing. Emails (with a link to the online briefing) will be sent to individual learners in February 2010 and learners will be expected to complete the online briefing by December 2010. Learners will receive monthly reminders until it has been completed. This briefing will take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

Frequency: Annually. After the February 2010 rollout, University non-research employees will be required to re-take the course each year, the exact date will be determined by the date they complete the course the previous year.

Technical Information & Assistance:

  • This online briefing can be taken using Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0, Safari 2.0 or higher, or Firefox 2.0 or higher browsers.

  • The briefing does not need to be completed all at once. If you wish to complete it in more than one sitting, the program will take you to where you last were in the briefing.
