Post Authorization Notification (PAN) Compliance

For Preparers and Mandatory Reviewers

  1. It is required that Preparers utilize their ability to designate a Primary Mandatory Reviewer when there are two (or more) Mandatory Reviewers set up in the system for a transaction. This is particularly true when the Preparer happens to be one of the two Mandatory Reviewers.

  2. In the event that the Preparer is preparing an action affecting the person who happens to be the Mandatory Reviewer (i.e., as can occur on Team A), it is required that the Associate HR Partner be user-added to review the action. This will ensure appropriate separation of duties.

  3. Associate HR Partners will have access to review the Post Authorization Notification Mandatory Reviewer Log (included in the web version of PPS). Associate Partners (or Senior HR Partners in a back-up capacity), are required to review this log once per week to determine if there are overdue mandatory PAN reviews. Supervisors will be able to review Status, Type, Mandatory Reviewer, Employee Action, Transaction Date, Date Reviewed, Days Unread in Queue. This category should be a useful tool in identifying any PANs that are overdue.
