Roles and Expectations
- Elvia Ontiveros, SHR Projects & Business Administration Manager
- Madlyn Norman-Terrance, Compensation and Benefits Manager
The Special Projects and Compensation Departments will oversee the campus Career Tracks project. Elvia will serve as the conduit between the systemwide group and UC Santa Cruz and coordinate with Madlyn as the matrices, job standards and implementation proceed.
Career Tracks Project Leaders
The project leaders will coordinate the details of the campus review and implementation process. Donovan Albright will serve as the lead Compensation Analyst for HR review of matrices and provide expert input on the matrices, job standards and implementation. Donovan will also serve as Madlyn’s backup.
Career Tracks Advisory Committee (CTAC)
Each UCSC Department has designated an expert to provide campus representation to the project team. The CTAC team members will provide feedback on proposed communications, change management and inform the planning process around the project roll out.
Mapping Partners / Subject Matter Experts
Designated Subject Matter Experts from each unit will use their unique field knowledge to consult with Managers, other staff and the Compensation Analysts to help ensure a sound mapping process. Our Career Tracks Mapping Partners will be the central point of contact for project coordination and may also serve as consultants to their Vice Chancellor area during the initial mapping of campus positions to the new Job Structure.
Departmental Managers will work in concert with their Mapping Partner to ensure each employee job is properly and appropriately mapped to the UC Job Structure. Due to the scope and visibility of this project, it is important that managers ensure key program information be provided in an accurate, consistent and timely manner to employees during this rollout. Managers will have an opportunity to hear their staff’s thoughts about the new program and correct or clarify misunderstandings should they occur.
