Partial-Year Career Positions
I. Summary
Partial-Year Career positions are positions with scheduled periods of time (furloughs), in minimum increments of one work-week and not to exceed three (3) months in each calendar year, during which the incumbents remain employees but are not at work.
During furlough period(s), employees are not on pay status and must take action to continue any benefit coverage(s).

III. Process Overview
The Supervisor notifies Employee & Labor Relations HR Generalist (ELR) of employee(s)’s furlough dates in advance of the scheduled furlough period. Any changes to the furlough period should be communicated to ELR.
ELR provides written notification of Furlough to the department, employee(s), and SHR Operations Specialist.
SHR Operations Specialist enters furlough into UCPath.
