Options to Mitigate Layoff |
|
It is the policy of the University to minimize the effects of indefinite layoffs and indefinite reductions in time. To that end, Principal Officers should explore the feasibility of the following alternatives:
- Eliminating temporary agency employees
- Releasing employees on limited appointments
- Releasing student workers
- Intra-divisional transfers and reassignments
- Across-the-board reductions in time
- Voluntary resignations and reductions in time
- Curtailment periods and furloughs
- Unit-wide temporary layoff periods
