Pre-Retirement Planning Program

Are you preparing for your retirement? Will you have enough income to live the lifestyle you desire: Do you know what happens when you are eligible for Medicare? Social Security? These workshops are targeted to those retiring within the next 5 years, although everyone is welcome to participate. You are encouraged to attend all four workshops and to ensure adequate space and handouts, please enroll using the Events Manager.

University of California Retirement Plan (UCRP)
Provides a detailed examination of the UC Retirement Plan (UCRP) including tools to calculate your retirement income, the retirement process, decisions you should be prepared to make and documents required at retirement. The presentation will also cover distributions from CAP, and the UC Retirement Savings Programs.

Designed for those who are five to 10 years from retirement, to help them determine their retirement expenses and explore the risks associated with retirement.

UC Insurance Plans and Medicare
This workshop covers insurance options for retirees and who’s eligible for coverage; describes the components of Medicare and how they work, and most importantly, how the UC medical plans coordinate with Medicare.

Social Security
Describes how eligibility for Social Security income is established and how income is calculated. Also covers when Social Security income can begin and the reduction if taken prior to your full retirement age along with how your benefits are reduced if you work and receive Social Security.
