Overtime Compensation Election Forms

In compliance with various collective bargaining agreements, employees may file a written preference to receive either compensatory time off (CTO) or pay for any overtime worked. Overtime is defined as time on pay status, which exceeds forty (40) hours in a workweek. Even if an employee's department does not offer overtime or CTO, the employee should file an election form so the University has a record of the employee's preference.

Under provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), agreement to accept compensatory time off in lieu of pay is entirely voluntary.

Note:
Unless otherwise noted on the election form, represented employees who do not return forms will have their overtime compensated with pay.

Please complete an overtime compensation election form and submit it to your Staff Human Resources Operations Specialist within 30 days of on-boarding.
