UCOP Sexual Harassment Prevention

Sexual Harassment Prevention Training for Supervisors & Faculty

Online Sexual Harassment Prevention Training
Beginning the week of February 2, 2009, the newly revised online Sexual Harassment Prevention training will be launched by the UCOP Learning Center (uclearningcenter@ucop.edu) to the UCSC campus. The faculty and staff who receive emails during the week of February 2, 2009 include those who are new to the supervisor role, those who did not complete the training in the last round, and those whose previous training expired in the last several months.

Intended For: The Sexual Harassment Prevention training course is mandated by California Law AB 1825 (Gov. Code Section 12950.1) stipulating that for designated supervisors, the training must be completed every two years. The definition of “supervisor” under this law (AB 1825) is very broad. It includes not only those who hire or fire employees, but also individuals who may assign or direct the work of others. For the purpose of this training, the University has determined that all faculty, senior managers (SMG), librarians, and managers and senior professionals (MSP) employees must complete the training regardless of their supervisory responsibilities.

Once the online course launches during the week of February 2, 2009, the process of email notification for those who are due will be automated. As people near the end of the two years from their last completion of the training, they will be prompted via email to retake the course.

Additional Information:

  • This course can be taken using Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0, Safari 2.0 or higher, or Firefox 2.0 or higher browsers.
