Once the supervisor informs the employee of the termination, the supervisor will email the termination notice and attachments to the employee. The employee will be given time to review the document if needed. The LR Analyst will answer any due process questions. The supervisor will work with the employee to arrange a time/date for the employee to retrieve any personal items and return any University property. See the Supervisor Checklist for offboarding for more information. The employee’s access to their UCSC email and any other University systems will be closed on the date of the termination. If needed, the supervisor may send an email out to staff members in the unit to inform them that the employee is no longer employed at UCSC. This communication should not be sent out ahead of the date of the termination and should be in consultation with your ER representative.
