Re: 2017 University of California Dependent Reverification Reminder

Dear Colleagues:

As was mentioned during this past Open Enrollment, the University’s dependent reverification process is about to begin this April. The Family Member Eligibility Verification program has been in effect since 2012 and while many faculty and staff have already verified their family members in the past, this is the University’s opportunity to make sure enrollments continue to be up-to-date. The University has a fiduciary responsibility to ensure the best possible management of its health care benefits and it is essential that health plan members enroll only those family members who are eligible for UC-sponsored health insurance — and de-enroll them if they lose eligibility. In early April, Secova will send reverification packets with instructions on how to submit your documentation. If you are contacted by Secova, you must submit your completed and signed verification form and other required documentation to Secova by May 12, 2017.
