This message contains important information about the 2020-2021 annual performance cycle, including training opportunities for managers and supervisors on the ePerformance tool. Conducting performance evaluations remains an important managerial responsibility and these trainings are available to assist managers and supervisors in preparation of delivering your staff evaluations.

Managers/supervisors should complete the annual evaluations for their non-represented and represented staff to build on our culture of engagement, to provide ongoing support and encouragement and to document any performance concerns that may exist.

Due Date for Non-Represented Employees

Annual performance evaluations for non-represented employees are due by Friday, July 30, 2021.

Due Date for Represented Employees

Annual performance evaluations for represented employees are due by Tuesday, August 31, 2021.

Important Note about Low Scoring Evaluations

As previously communicated during the rollout of the ePerformance tool during 2020, ePerformance does not automatically notify Employee Relations (ER) if a supervisor submits a low-rated performance evaluation. As a result, you must now notify your ER Analyst if you plan to rate an employee with an overall rating of less than Met Expectations prior to submitting the performance evaluation.

Training Opportunities

Staff Human Resources (SHR) is offering a series of Zoom training sessions for annual performance evaluations, the ePerformance tool, and on goal setting for your employees between April 28th through July 28th on subjects including Tool Training, Goal-Setting and Content Training. SHR will offer two (2) different trainings to prepare managers and supervisors for completing their staff annual evaluations.

ePerformance “Tool Navigation” Training is focused on tool navigation only for new managers and supervisors or those who want a full review of the ePerformance tool and is being offered on a limited basis. Available zoom trainings:

  • 5/3 - 1:30pm-4:00pm
  • 5/26 - 9:00am-11:30am

ePerformance “Completing the Manager Evaluation” Training is a hands-on session which includes a brief review of the ePerformance tool and primarily focuses on content writing for evaluations, which occurs after supervisors have already defined the criteria in their employees evaluation. Prior to attending the ePerformance “Completing the Manager Evaluation” training session, managers and supervisors should define criteria for their employee evaluations to provide opportunities for hands-on guidance.
