Campus-Only Recruitment - Manager Process

About the Program
To support the career progress of qualified internal candidates, the campus-only recruitment process may be utilized as a competitive process to fill career vacancies.

Eligibility
Only positions covered by Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM), including MSP positions, are eligible for this campus-only recruitment program. Positions covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) are not eligible for this program.

How it Works
Prior to initiating a campus only recruitment, managers should consider the following:

  • Reclass position vs campus only recruitment

Managers may choose the campus-only recruitment process if

  • The position is covered by Personnel Policies for Staff Members (PPSM), including MSP
  • It is reasonable to expect that an internal applicant pool would yield a qualified candidate(s)
  • It is considered to be a professional growth opportunity for current UC Santa Cruz employees

Things to Know

  • Preferential rehire candidates are considered internal candidates and are eligible for campus only recruitments
  • Consult with your Talent Acquisition Consultant (TAC) if you do not yield a qualified internal applicant pool

Process

  • Choose “campus-only recruitment” on the RMS worksheet
  • Submit RMS worksheet and completed Career Tracks job description to newRMSwork@ucsc.edu
  • Contact your TAC if you have any questions
