Extension of Appointments

I. Summary

Career Appointment

A career appointment may have an end date. The unit is required to provide their Payroll Timekeeper with new job end date information to extend an appointment.

Limited/Per Diem Appointments

A limited or per diem appointment has an end date that may be extended. The unit is required to provide their Payroll Timekeeper with new job end date information to request an extension. The unit is required to consult with their Employee Relations Analyst to extend a rehire retiree appointment.

Contract Appointment

A contract appointment has an end date that may be extended for no more than a total of five (5) years. The unit is required to consult with their Employee Relations Analyst to extend a contract appointment.

Student Appointment

A student appointment has an end date that may be extended. The unit is required to provide SHR Operations with new job end date information to request an extension.
