New Employee Onboarding

Welcome to the University of California, Santa Cruz

New and rehired employees are required to participate in an onboarding session on or before their first day of work. This in-person onboarding provides employees with necessary tools, resources and support to bolster confidence in the university and in their own ability to achieve success.

The onboarding date for new and returning employees is confirmed during the verbal offer. All new employees are contacted via email upon acceptance of their formal offer - this email includes information about when and where to report to onboarding and what I-9 documentation is needed to prove their ability to work in the United States. The in-person onboarding session includes a presentation facilitated by one of our campus partners and completion of new hire paperwork with the Talent Acquisition Team.  Onboarding sessions last approximately two hours and are offered on Monday mornings at the Scotts Valley Center located at 100 Enterprise Way, Suite E100, Scotts Valley, CA 95066.
