The Compensation and Classification team ensures fair, equitable, and compliant pay and job classification practices in alignment with University policy, collective bargaining agreements, the UC Nondiscrimination Statement and employment law. The team evaluates and classifies positions, reviews job structures for consistency and equity, and provides guidance on reclassifications, reorganizations, and career progressions. Through market analysis and internal comparisons, the team advises managers on salary decisions that support the recruitment, retention, and motivation of a highly qualified workforce while maintaining alignment with campus and systemwide standards. Compensation Analysts are available to consult with Managers/Supervisors and HR Liaisons on classification of positions, pay issues and to interpret pay policy and procedures.
