Overtime Election Forms

I. Summary

Employees may file a written preference to receive either compensatory time off (CTO) or pay for any overtime worked. Even if an employee's department does not typically offer overtime or CTO, the employee should file an election form so the University has a record of the employee's preference.

Under provisions of the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), agreement to accept compensatory time off in lieu of pay is entirely voluntary.

Note: Unless otherwise noted on the election form, employees who do not return overtime compensation election forms will have their overtime compensated with pay.

Please complete an overtime compensation election form and submit it to your SHR Operations Specialist within 30 days of on-boarding.
