Leave of Absence
I. Summary
The Leave of Absence Coordinator provides staff employees with guidance and counseling on leave entitlements, pay options, and resources. Employees may be eligible for and granted the following leave types including but not limited to:
Family and Medical Leave (FML), Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL), Supplemental Family and Medical Leave, California Family Rights Act (CFRA)/parental leave, Military Leave, disability leave or personal leave.
II. Authority
The Leave of Absence Coordinator (or designee) within Employee and Labor Relations is responsible for determining eligibility and leave entitlements for staff employees. A Unit Head may approve a personal leave up to one year. Principal Officer approval is required for a leave of absence exceeding one year.
