Leave (Paid and Investigatory)

Investigatory leave is a type of paid leave of absence used to remove an employee from the workplace during an active investigation. Employees may be removed from the workplace when the University is actively reviewing or investigating an employee’s alleged actions including, but not limited to dishonesty, theft, misappropriation of University property, fighting, insubordination, acts endangering others, or other conduct which warrants an employee’s removal. Investigatory leave is permissible by policy and collective bargaining agreement.

The University may also place employees on a paid leave of absence during the NOIT process without an active investigation pending. Supervisors and managers should consult with their Labor Relations analyst to discuss the possibility of a paid leave during the NOIT period.
